The Huns Head is Tom's Targets' version of the classic head-and-shoulders silhouette long used on UK ranges — a shape traditionally nicknamed the Huns Head and still carrying that name today. It measures approximately 195 x 250mm and is cut from Hardox 500 plate steel, a harder grade than the maker uses on its smaller rimfire gongs, giving it the durability for sustained use as a reactive target. It is designed to work with Tom's Targets' poles and chains, and with the Pro Stand, all sold separately, so it can be set up wherever suits the range. The steel is left in a bare, uncoated finish rather than painted, which lets it sit outdoors through a season without a coating chipping or flaking the way a painted target eventually does — bare Hardox simply weathers to a dull grey and keeps working. Shooting a proper silhouette rather than a plain square or round gong gives a more realistic test of accuracy, and the size makes it a practical option for regular range use.
