Not Bad

Not bad but not great. Out of the box I noticed a quality control issue, the heel pull was only partially attached. Not enough of an issue to return, I’ll get the super glue out.
The fit is narrow so I would not recommend if your feet are slightly broad, I’m hoping that they will relax a bit after another few miles of walking.
I can’t get on with the very fiddly calf width adjustment fasteners, not the best of design.
On a positive note the Vibram sole is superb which was the main selling point for me.

Wellies cracked after three months use. Shoddy goods.

Bought Grubs Speyline 4.0 end of April 2023, kept in box until end September 2023 and then moderately used most days for gentle dog walking around playing fields etc. Washed and rubber conditioner used. No wear on sole at all.
However, the boots have now split on both boots where the inside front of the foot/toe section flexes and are no longer watertight after effectively 3 months use.
Not happy and would recommend avoiding Grubs as the price does not match the quality of boot or customer service. Awful. Strongly advise to avoid.
Grubs have come back and said the cracking/splitting is 'wear and tear' and they cannot help in any way. In effect three months use of boots that were well cared for and they are now useless.

Very good (so far)

I bought these wellies mainly because they have a very grippy Vibram sole (I was sick of slipping in the mud in my old, nearly bald wellies).
They are very comfortable with a padded footbed, I can't feel rocks etc. when walking over rough ground. They're also very warm with a full neoprene lining.
The price at BushWear when I bought them was great, unfortunately they've gone up in price since!
I've had them a week and have only covered about ten miles so it's early days, but so far, so good.

fine boots

i have weird boot requirements & weirder feet; these boots were initially problematic & I feared the worst but some home-made adjustments have solved the problems:

1. cut down the height to calf level
2. a second footbed & a thicker sock lifted my heel away from the area that was rubbing.

vibram sole is solid

No 'off-the-peg' boot or shoe ever fits me, so anything that is responsive to my personal tweaks always get a return visit.

Oilskin 3/4 cut off

This is our 2nd purchase of the same item for both our boys.
They are perfect when doing outdoor smallholder activities & walking etc
We went up a size to take account of a fleece/swandri wool outer layer weather dependent. The waxed oilskin gives that waterproof layer or just a layer over base layers again weather dependent.
Highly Recommended.

Looks a bit see through when I took it from the packet....but looks ok when I put it on. It actually doesn't stink compared to wearing a cotton or polyester t-shirt ( for a couple of days 😄)
Only thing I didn't like is it was a bit scratchy at first ...it might get better when I finally wash it 😃
